Mission

The Business Developer will be a key player in expanding Avesta's Lithium battery energy storage solutions in Finland. Your mission is to identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with both new and existing customers, convert these opportunities into orders, and drive revenue, while contributing to ongoing innovation in the Lithium battery energy storage space. You will have an annual order intake target, and your actions will directly influence the company’s market position and long-term success. This role requires expertise across the entire commercial cycle and involves frequent travel within Finland, as well as remote communication with headquarter management and support teams.

As a Business Developer, you will operate independently, leveraging your experience and expertise to shape the business for Avesta in Finland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop leads, turning them into valuable business opportunities.
  • Convert identified opportunities into purchase orders, following the company’s commercial process.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities to ensure its health and achieve purchase order targets.
  • Increase Avesta’s brand and product awareness in Finland by promoting our Lithium battery energy storage solutions to both new and existing customers and new applications.
  • Contribute to Avesta’s market and application knowledge by staying informed on the Lithium battery energy storage market, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (technical, product, marketing) to ensure seamless delivery of tailored solutions to customers.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or any relevant degree associated with business development or sales management.
  • Experience in battery energy storage, electrical systems, or similar technical fields, with a proven track record in business development in project-based environments.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage the full commercial cycle, from lead generation to closing deals.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, competition, and customer needs.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Experience handling small to large-scale projects and industrial clients.
    • Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel frequently within Finland and potentially to Avesta headquarters.
